Connect your Blackberry Curve into a Wireless Router


One of the many cool features of the BlackBerry Curve is its ability to connect to wireless networks for faster Internet service. However, the menu on the curve a bit intimidating, especially to new users. To help you curve your online, here's a step-by-guide that will help the phone to your wireless router.


Requirements:

● Wireless router
● Access code for the wireless network


step 1 Press The "menu" Key To Access Your Menu. The "menu" Key Is The Button Directly To The Left Of Your Trackball. It Is Engraved With A Series Of Black dots In The Shape Of A Blackberry.

step 2 Use The trackball To Scroll Through Your Menu Until You Find An Icon That Looks Like A wireless Router With A Gear On Top Of It. When You Highlight This Icon, The Phrase "set Up Wi-fi" Should Appear At The Bottom Of Your Screen.

step 3 Press The trackball Once To Select The "set Up Wi-fi" Option.

step 4 If You Get An introductory Screen That Says "welcome To Wi-fi Set Up," Scroll Down To The Bottom And Use The trackball To Select The Option That Says "next."

step 5 Look For A Message That Says "select An Option." If You Are Trying To Connect With An Unsecured Network Or A Secured Network That You Have The security Key For, Select "scan For Networks." If You Are Not In Range Of The wireless Router You Wish To Connect To But Want To Save The Information For Later, Select "manually Add Network."

step 6 Make Your Selection. If The Wi-fi Connection On The Phone Is Off You Will Prompted To Turn It On. Select "turn Wi-fi On" To Continue.

step 7 If You Selected "scan For Networks," Wait For Your Phone To Scan For Available Wi-fi Networks And Display A List Of All The Wi-fi signals It Detects.

step 8 Select The wireless Router You Are Trying To Connect To And Press The Trackball. If You Connected To A Secured Network, You Will Be Asked To Enter The security Key On The Next Screen. Enter It, Then Select "connect." Once You Have Successfully Connected To The Wireless Router, You Should Get A Message Advising You That The Connection Was Successful.

step 9 If You Chose "manually Add Network" In Step 5, You Will Be Asked To Enter The Name Of The Network You Are Trying To Connect To. If You Don't Know The Name Of Your Router, Wait Until You Are Within Range And Choose "scan For Networks" At Step 5.

step 10 Select The Type Of Security The Network Has And Enter The security Key Or Code. Your Phone Will Attempt To Connect To The Network. Once It Connects To The Wireless Router, Your Screen Will Tell You That The Connection Was Successful.
