Dismantling of a Blackberry 8100

Blackberry Devices, Like The 8100 Pearl, Are Designed To Be Dismantled In Just A Few Minutes So That You Can Exchange And Repair Certain Components. Your 8100 May Look Solid, But It Is Actually Just two Pieces Of Plastic Surrounding A Control Board And An Lcd. Many Of The Components, Like The Lcd, Are Replaceable, Although Some, Like The Microphone, Are Soldered To The Control Board And Are Almost Impossible To Replace Without Specific Tools.

Requirements:
● T6 screwdriver
● Pry stick

step 1 Flip The Device Over And Push Down On The silver Button On The Lower Part Of The Back Of The 8100. While You Hold The Button Down, Push The Battery Cover Up And Remove It From The Device.

step 2 Pull Out On The Top Of The Battery To Free It From The Back Of The Device, Then Pull It Away Form The Phone. Slide The sim Card Out As Well.

step 3 Place Your Pry Stick Underneath The Small Plastic Piece That Is Under And Around The Small silver Button On The Back Of The 8100. Push Down On Your Pry Stick Until You Feel The Plastic Piece Pop Off. Pull The Piece Away From The Device.

step 4 Use Your t6 Screwdriver To Remove The Two screws On The Top Of The Back Of The Device And The Two screws At The Bottom Of The Front Of The Device.

step 5 Place Your Pry Stick Between One Of The Silver side Pieces And The Black Plastic Of The Phone. Twist The Pry Stick Until The Side Piece Pops Off. Run Your Pry Stick Up And Down The Side Piece To Completely Separate It, Then Remove It. Do The Same For The Other Side Piece.

step 6 Pull The Back Housing Away From The Device.

step 7 Place Your Pry Stick Between The Circuit Board And The Front Housing. Gently Push Down On The Other Side Of The Pry Stick Until The Circuit Board Pops Out Of The Housing. Separate The Two Pieces.

step 8 Slide You Pry Stick Under The Lcd To Remove It From The Adhesive. Then Disconnect The Lcd Cable From The Connector On The Board. Your 8100 Is Now Disassembled.
